How emoji counting works
Modern emoji can contain several Unicode code points, such as skin-tone modifiers, flags and family sequences. This tool uses Intl.Segmenter when available so a grapheme such as a family emoji is treated as one user-perceived character, then identifies emoji-like graphemes with Unicode properties.
Browser limitation
Emoji standards and browser Unicode support evolve. Older browsers without Intl.Segmenter use a simpler code-point fallback, so some joined sequences or flags can be counted differently.
