How the QR scanner works
When your browser supports the Barcode Detection API, the selected image is decoded locally and the detected QR value is shown below the form. The tool does not automatically open detected links.
What can a QR code contain?
A QR code can encode text, a website URL or other structured data. This scanner displays the decoded value as text so you can inspect it before deciding what to do next.
QR scanning depends on your browser’s built-in Barcode Detection API. If it is unavailable, this page will tell you instead of uploading the image to a remote decoder.
The scanner script does not send the selected image to a server. Decoding happens in the browser when the required API is supported.
