Calculate profit per unit and gross margin per unit from selling price and unit cost.
Formula
Profit per unit = selling price − unit cost. Margin percentage is profit per unit divided by selling price, multiplied by 100.
Example: A $50 selling price and $30 unit cost gives $20 profit per unit and a 40% margin.
Scope
Use a consistent definition of unit cost. Overhead, tax, shipping and other costs are included only if you put them into the cost input.
