Estimate the mass of a straight round pipe from outside diameter, wall thickness, length and material density.
Result: Enter pipe dimensions.
Formula used
The pipe wall is treated as a hollow cylinder. Material cross-sectional area is π/4 × (OD² − ID²), where ID = OD − 2 × wall thickness. Mass equals material volume multiplied by density.
Engineering limitation
This is a geometry-based estimate for straight round pipe. Actual mass can differ with manufacturing tolerances, coatings, fittings, corrosion, material grade and dimensional standards. Density presets are approximate.
